update

Hi guys,

The commissioning of the cryolines in Hall C is underway. No cooldown will
be approved until the commissioning is finished. According to M.Seely they
should be ready by Wed next week.
There is still no progress on the magnet vacuum, one leak was found and
repaired (by welding!) last Friday, since then the vacuum sits flat at
about 2-3 mTorr. According to W.Kellner it will take 2-3 days to leak
check the magnet, and they started this afternoon. If there are no major
problems, the vacuum in the magnet should be in the 10^-4 scale by the
same time the cryolines will be ready, Wed next week. If there are major
problems, G.Smith pointed out, like leaks in the end cap(s) it may take 2
weeks to fix them. Anyway, for Neon test we might get away with a vacuum
in the magnet bellow 1 mTorr.
If we will be ready for cooldown on Wed, we will start by cooling with
Helium in the loop and check out the p-i-d feedback for the HPH, it might
take a day, then we'll switch over to Neon and do the actual test, but the
test won't happen before Thu. next week. If the Neon test is passed, the
LH2 tests, and shifts, will most probably start the following Mon.
The tosp for the Neon test is finished and I'm collecting signatures.
Maybe I'll have some better news on Thu. at the phone conference about
the vacuum in the magnet vessel,

Silviu
